COURSE DESCRIPTION: Pro-union activists are furiously lobbying Congress to pass new federal laws that’ll make it easier for your employees to form a union. You probably feel that if your workers “go union” you’ll lose workforce flexibility, see an erosion in productivity and – no small thing – lose the culture that your leadership team has spent years or even decades creating.
You want to stay union-free. And this Webinar will help you do it.
First, speaker Don Lee, Esq., will give a status report on EFCA. Based on what we know today, what will the final version look like? He’ll cover legal pitfalls that could unintentionally give ammunition to pro-union workers. And finally, he’ll offer a game plan for helping workers see that they’re better off NOT forming a union.
Topics covered will include:
- Key areas where you can improve your work environment so employees won’t feel a union is necessary
- “You said-We did”: How to show your employees that they already have a voice and that you’re listening
- Unions don't organize, management does: Why your front-line supervisors are your greatest asset or biggest hindrance in maintaining a direct employer/employee relationship
- Which employer policies most often violate federal labor law and/or make workers feel they need to unionize – and what to do about it
- The critical importance of consistently enforcing rules about distribution of literature among employees
- Using employee surveys that assess your strengths and vulnerabilities. Build your case to remain union-free based on fact
- Talking Union: When should you engage in proactive discussions with employees about unions and when shouldn’t you? And if you do, how do you do it lawfully?
