COURSE DESCRIPTION: Confused about healthcare reform? You’re not alone. Most media coverage is about what reform means to consumers of health care. But what’s it going to mean to your company? And what’s it mean to you as an HR professional? After all, when change comes, you’re going to be the point person. Employees and executives alike will expect you to be in the know, and they’ll be looking to you for perspective.
The range of reform possibilities is narrower than you might think. Our speaker, attorney Ashley Gillihan of Alston & Bird in Washington D.C., has been following the debate up close. He’s been talking to insiders in the government and has prepared a presentation that will help you understand which aspects of the proposed health care reform have no chance of happening, which might happen, and which will almost certainly come to pass.
So if you’re concerned about new changes, and feel like you’re trying to plan in the dark, join Mr. Gillihan for this 60-minute conference. He’ll continue covering the reform bill right up until the August 12 presentation and give you the latest perspective so you can start preparing for change.
In addition, he will discuss other health and welfare benefits legislation that has already passed, such as:
- Mental Health and Substance Abuse Parity Rules
- Michelle's Law, which requires plans to cover dependents who are students and become disabled
- ARRA Cobra subsidy
- Medicare Secondary Reporting – what must be reported and who must report it.
